#behealthybeactive -Today we made cupcakes. The experiment was to see whether colour affects the choices children make. We made two batches of Strawberry Banana cupcakes. The first batch used real strawberries and bananas for flavour and colour. The second batch used artificial strawberry flavouring and yellow colouring for the banana.

We had opposing views, but winning by slight majority was the brightly coloured, artificially flavoured cupcake. Which was clearly inferior to the naturally flavoured and coloured cupcake ( as voted by myself, Mrs farrell and Georgia.) Funnily enough the children referred to the bright yellow coloured cupcake as the banana one, when in fact there was no trace of banana-either artifial or real. Which goes to prove that young children are clearly swayed by brightly coloured food.
We all had great fun baking!
Here are some viewpoints:
Samuel: I loved the Strawberry and Banana cupcakes best (natural)
They were so delicious. I really love bananas and strawberries and you could taste them both in the cupcakes.
Phillipa-Lilly: I really like the Banana sprinkle one (artificial)
I love sprinkles and the bright pink icing. It tasted the best!

Welcome to Room 10`s blog

We are a class of five year olds who are super excited about learning! This group of boys were super proud of the huge space puzzle that they managed to build together.

This is their victory dance!

We learnt about Jesus` first miracle. Here we are re-enacting the events of the Wedding at Cana, where Jesus changed water into wine.
Children are encouraged to work independently.

The reading hut- a place where we can quietly read a book.

This group are co-operatively playing a favourite game.
